Juvederm®
Juvederm® is a smooth injectable gel filler that instantly takes several years off your face by improving the appearance of deep facial wrinkles, folds, lines, acne scars, and enhancing your lips.
As we age, exposure to the sun and other elements causes our skin components to break down and lose their structure and volume. This causes lines, facial folds, and wrinkles to appear in the face which accentuates aging. CCI recommends Juvederm to patients who want to restore that structure and volume – and instantly take several years off their face. These injection treatments are done in our office as a “lunch hour” beauty treatment and patients normally return to work or regular activity immediately!

JUVEDERM PROCEDURE:
Using either Juvederm® Ultra – or Juvederm® Ultra Plus, depending upon your needs, the smooth gel is injected into the specified sites using a very tiny needle and pre-measured doses. It flows easily and consistently into the skin so you will experience little to no discomfort. It ensures a smooth, natural look and feel. There may be some redness, firmness, and swelling for up to 7 days.
Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus formulations are both smooth, injectable gels and are the newest, most advanced forms of Hyaluronic Acid dermal filler on the market today. Juvederm® Ultra is a highly cross-linked gel – making it smooth, consistently flowing and longer lasting. This is accomplished through a most advanced scientific method. All other dermal fillers are granular. Juvederm® is the most versatile filler available today.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT JUVEDERM:
What is Juvederm® ?
Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus are next generation Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers. These injectables are different from others on the market because they are a “smooth gel” that flows consistently into the skin to smooth away wrinkles/folds and to restore volume.
What areas are treated with Juvederm?
Juvederm is used to correct those areas of the face and jaw line that need to be rejuvenated.
Why is it different from other dermal fillers?
Juvederm is available in two injectable gel formulations – Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus. The Juvederm Ultra gel allows for more versatility in restoring contour and volume to your face and smoothing away wrinkles and folds. Juvederm Ultra Plus is a more robust formula, which allows for treatment of deeper wrinkles and folds while restoring volume as well.
Is Juvederm suitable for persons of color and different skin tones?
YES. Juvederm is the first Hyaluronic Acid dermal filler to be approved by the FDA for safe, effective treatment for persons of color and different skin tones – without the risk of hyper-pigmentation and hyper-tropic scarring.
How does Juvederm® differ from Botox Cosmetic®?
Botox is a muscle relaxant generally used in the upper facial area to relax that area between the eyes that cause those two parallel lines. Juvederm is a dermal filler used to restore volume and contour – it does not affect muscle function.
What is Hyaluronic Acid and cross-linking?
Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance in all mammals that helps keep the skin hydrated. As we age, collagen production slows down and lines, wrinkles, and folds begin to appear. Cross-linking is a unique manufacturing process that makes Juvederm so effective and long lasting.
Since it is a smooth gel that flows easily and consistently into the skin, there is very little to no discomfort as with other dermal fillers which are granular. A treatment generally takes 15 minutes or more.
Will I need follow-up treatments?
Results last 6 months or longer. Follow-up treatments may be needed for maintenance, but this will be determined on a patient by patient basis
Will insurance pay for my Juvederm injectable treatments?
No. This is a cosmetic procedure – and insurance does not cover elective procedures.
Can I get financing for Juvederm treatments?
Today there is financing available for many plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures. Ask about this in our business office.
