Rhinoplasty Plastic Surgery
Rhinoplasty is one of the most elegant and complex surgeries performed today.
Rhinoplasty is a delicate surgery – one of illusion and balance.
Each year over ½ million men, women and children have their noses reshaped.

Nose surgery is done for either cosmetic or functional reasons. Nose reshaping can reduce or increase the overall size of your nose, change the angle between the nose and upper lip, remove a hump, narrow the span of the nostrils, or reshape the tip or bridge of your nose. A deviated septum, from an injury (broken nose), can be corrected and your breathing improved. If a nose is distorted from disease, accident/injury, or a previous nose surgery, CCI can do revisional surgery and create the nose you desire. Some people simply don’t like the nose they were born with, or the way it appears due to age-related changes. Your concerns will all be addressed during your personal consultation with our surgeon, and your treatment will be tailored to meet your needs – because we know that “one nose does not fit all faces.”
Leonardo DaVinci articulated the concept of facial harmony & balance in his art…
Who Is A Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty Surgery?
If you are concerned about any of the problems listed above - you are probably a good candidate. Teen girls should be age 15 or older and teen boys should be 18 or older since it is important that growing is completed. Every candidate should be in otherwise good health and have realistic expectations.
First consults are critical and are always conducted done face-to-face with the surgeon.
RHINOPLASTY OVERVIEW:
The procedure involves either an “open” or “closed” technique. In an open procedure, incisions are made inside the nose with an additional small incision made on the underside of the nose between the nostrils. For a closed procedure, incisions are made inside the nose only. Open Rhinoplasty is done for more complex cases. After you are sedated and made completely comfortable, CCI will make the incisions and work through them to remove excess tissue, work on cartilage and bone to alter the size and shape of your nose and create the size and shape desired. A splint is applied to protect the surgery.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT RHINOPLASTY:
What anesthesia is used during Rhinoplasty surgery?
Local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia are used for your surgery. This will be discussed during your consultation with CCI.
Who can have Rhinopolasty surgery?
Good candidates are men and women of all ages, who are in good health and who have realistic expectations. Fully grown teens can have Rhinoplasty surgery.
How long does Rhinoplasty surgery take?
Simple procedures can take as little as 45 minutes while more complex ones take up to 3 or more hours.
Where does CCI perform Rhinoplasty surgery?
Surgery is done in a state-of-the-art surgery center. It is fully accredited and equipped with all the necessary technologies to perform all surgeries and handle any situation.
Where are incisions placed for Rhinoplasty surgery?
For the closed technique, incisions are confined to the inside of your nose. With the open procedure, incisions are made on the inside of the nose and a small one is made on the underside of your nose – between the nostrils.
Will I have scars?
Yes, incisions do result in scars, but with the closed technique, the incisions are confined to the inside of your nose and are inconspicuous. The open technique requires one small incision at the underside of your nose that is well-concealed and fades into a fine line over time.
Is Rhinoplasty surgery painful?
Our patients tell us they experience mild discomfort but rarely call it painful. A stuffy nose feeling and headache and/or achiness in the nose area are common. Any discomfort you experience is easily managed with oral pain medication.
Can I drive myself to and stay alone after surgery?
No. You will need a responsible adult to drive you to and from your surgery and stay with you overnight and for a couple of days if possible.
What can I expect during recovery?
Some swelling and bruising are normal and to be expected. You will need to stay in bed the first day after your surgery – with your head elevated on 2-3 pillows. CCI’s patients usually feel better within 1-2 days.
When will I be able to return to work and normal activities?
CCI’s patients generally are presentable and able to return to work within 1 week after their surgery. You may be able to resume light exercise after about 1 week also. You will be restricted from strenuous exercise and sports for at least 3 weeks. Lifting, bending, stooping, and straining should also be avoided.
Will stitches have to be removed?
If sutures are used, they will be removed within 1 week.
If I don’t like the results – can it be fixed?
Revisional Rhinoplasty can be performed to correct or fix whatever needs to be done. It is important to allow healing to take place in order to be able to see and appreciate the final results before making a decision – especially with Rhinoplasty surgery. Healing occurs at a different pace in each patients – and swelling and bruising take time to resolve.
Will insurance pay for Rhinoplasty surgery?
If surgery is performed strictly for cosmetic reasons, insurance will not cover it. If surgery is for medical/functional problems – i.e. broken nose that now hinders proper breathing – insurance may cover the cost. You need to check with your insurance provider.
Is there financing for Rhinoplasty surgery? This may be possible. Check with our business office about this.
